Thriller Feedback

We are pleased with the feedback that we got from the rest of the class. The majority of the class found the subtitles very effective and relative to the theme, the medical props used made it clear what the theme of the thriller was. The music was appropriate and fitted well with the genre. The thriller used a variety of shots. Bacteria and heart monitor shot where very effective.

This feedback will be very useful for our individuals evaluations

after shooting

In the end we choose not to shoot in addenbrookes hospital. We found suitable places in college in shoot instead.
Subtitles - For the subtitles we got a canvas and used a pipette to dripped fake blood down to create a good effect.
Recordings - For the heart monitor and bacteria we borrowed them off the internet so that they looked more realistic.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEwzDydciWc - Bacteria
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVC7c0l9HEE&feature=related - Heart Monitor
when filming our shots we made changes to a few to adapt to our new setting.
We are now editing the shots ready for our rough cut dead line.

What other groups thought about our story board

Following the screening of our story boards to the class we solicited feedback form all the other groups. We then took on board what they said and decided what we were going to do about it.
Here is what was said about our story board:

1. Frames need to be more detailed
2. Frames are a good length
3. Music was suitable and fitted quite well
4. The plot was original
5. The subtitles were good and the blood was effective

After talking about what the other groups said we discussed it and we have decided to leave our story board as it is. We have decided this because it was mainly positive feedback and we know what we are doing in each shot.

Initial ideas for thriller

A new discovered disease that is incurable, its been developed in hospitals through needles, it has been described as being ten times worse than MRSA for examples blood tests. We will have effective flashing images of needles , hospital equipment , wards and corridors. We will include subtitles and a blood dripping motif that will then cut to action shots. The music will crescendo towards a build up of flashing images towards the end of the sequence. There will be unidentified doctors and patients. A simple bold font is faded for the subtitles however not sure what font it will be as yet.

student analysis of thriller

This trailer used typical conventions of a thriller such as a kidnap as their scenario. The music created tension and suspense whilst showing helpless victims such as the teenage girl and a psycho man. The black and red lighting foreshadowed something bad was going to happen during the film. All these things led to numerous questions at the end of the sequence such as, "Why was the girls being kidnapped?".
